Birthday surprise
Well at age 31 I have discovered that as a mother and a wife that your birthday isn't just about you. (I did discover that before 31, it was just reemphasized:)
I had a good day but both Dave and Owen have no energy and have been hitting 102 temps. Surprise:)
Fun times:)
Fortunately I did get a massage and some shopping in before the fevers hit:)
Dave and I were planning Sunday night out alone, Monday night out alone and Friday night out alone. It is not often we line up all these babysitters. Sunday and Monday Dave was under the weather so cross your fingers that Friday we will go out for Dave's birthday:) At least one out of three would be nice.

Happy Valentines Day!!
Just wanted to show you what Evan and I did on Valentines day. Evan got to hang out with the Mayor. Evan stretched his arms out to the Mayor who held him quite a while. They had a great conversation.
Unfortunately you never realize some of your habits until on the TV news. I will from now on focus on having a small laugh, rather than completely opening my mouth and throwing my head back. It is nice that they opened our TV spot with that image of me.
I knew the minute I was doing this that if I was taped that it would give everyone, especially Dave, something to laugh at:)
I think that is why I did it:)
Anyway enjoy the footage. I also added the flyer from Let's Dish so if you are from Rochester, you want to make a meal at Let's Dish, and you want to donate to our heart support group you will have the information to do so.
The promotional code can be used for the entire month of February.
Also there is a cute picture of my little Evan on the flyer:)

Milestone
It is the best part of parenting each time your kid does something new. Not that they wouldn't have done it anyway but that you were there to support them during the process to get there.
Tonight I was totally moved by Owen's first reading of a book. Good old Hop on Pop by Dr. Suess. Owen sounded out each word and 70 percent of the time heard what he was reading. He was so excited that he could do it. That boy is smart but he always seems so surprised by what he can do. Then his confidence shoots right up and he is willing to try anything. So he took over and kept on reading all he could. Before discovering tonight that he could do it he wouldn't even try but now he has all the confidence he needs. I cannot wait to work on it more now and through the summer. I know he'll do that much better in kindergarten the more confident he is.
